Is technology getting out of hand?

Man from Birmingham has apparently decided that the national grid just isn’t pulling its weight and built his own.

In interviews, he explained that he “doesn’t trust the system anymore,” which, to be fair, is a reasonable stance. But the sight of a man turning himself into a walking energy solution does raise a few questions — mainly, how far people are willing to go before admitting things have gone sideways.

Online, the reaction has been predictably split. Environmentalists call it “the spirit of the future.” Some say it’s a glimpse of human resilience. Others say it’s proof that the collapse has already quietly begun, and we’re just making it wearable.

It’s the kind of invention that could only exist in this century: clever, desperate, and slightly humiliating.

Still, it’s nice to see innovation thriving.
