A London café has caused public outcry this week after adding garlic-flavoured ice cream to its summer menu.
The café, located in East London, described the flavour as part of a “seasonal experiment.” It’s unclear what season they were referring to.
Reactions have been mixed. Some people claim to enjoy it, but wouldn’t commit to a second scoop. A few so-called influencers described it as “bold” and “memorable.” It’s memorable alright, just not in the way they think.
We tried it. It’s horrible. Actively distressing, in fact.
Garlic ice cream now joins the café’s growing list of questionable menu items, including beetroot latte, olive oil cappuccino, and something quietly labelled “pickle cake,” which no one’s had the courage to ask about.
It’s unclear how long the flavour will remain on the menu but based on the café’s track record, we wouldn’t rule out mushroom sorbet next.
